After Rocky Mountain National Park, there was really only one (realistic) wildlife viewing experience Erin really wanted out of Colorado: Bighorns. On several occasions bighorn sheep had eluded us but as we’re leaving Colorado today, yesterday was one of our last chances. We went to Little Dominguez Canyon in the morning, with the hope of hiking in just a little ways to see sheep before coming back home to finish up packing, saying goodbye to friends, etc. We walked the first stretch along the railroad tracks and crossed over the river on a foot bridge with no sightings. Then we stopped to give Zari (our dog) water, as she was drinking I scanned the cliffs and right there above us were 6 bighorn sheep calmly watching us, including two infants.
