Since I’m in New york right now, I wanted to post something about my immediate surroundings. I still have plenty I’m going to post about Ecuador and plan to go back and forth between posts on Ecuador and New York (or wherever I am at the moment).
Since we’ve been living in Poughkeepsie New York we’ve taken a few autumn walks through Vassar Farms and Ecological Reserve. It’s not pristine wilderness and certainly not as remote as Reserva Las Tangaras but it is beautiful. It offers a nice place to walk through a forest that you can get to on foot from Poughkeepsie. It also is an active farm and offers good community agriculture options for those wanting to eat locally (always a good thing).
